Functions

Roles and Responsibility:

 

Coordinator/Thrust Area Manager/Placement officer:

  1. Shall coordinate with Students to discover skills and preferences.
  2. Shall liaison with students and employers during placements.
  3. Shall maintain relationship with local placement providers.
  4. Shall work in consultation with Coordinator industry institute interaction for organizing lectures 
  5. Shall develop a fail proof system that works in such a way that the placement process does not stall (stop) even in the absence of the placement officer.
  6. Shall keep the system transparent and accessible to the people in the placement cell.
  7. Shall Keep all the needed facilities (arrangements)ready well in advance (at least the day before the placement drive) (Auditorium, seating arrangements, labs, interview rooms, student list, and refreshments for the guests.)
  8. Shall avoid eleventh hour preparation or transfer of responsibilities to other staff on the day of the placement drive.
  9. Shall collect the job announcement /descriptions requirements job details and specification from the representatives of each interested organizations and share the same with the students in a timely manner.
  10. Shall collect the data base of the eligible students from the respective HODs and share the same to the prospective companies based on the stipulated criteria. Note: The P.O can make use of the company or HR references given by the departments, however the follow up process must be taken by the P.O.
  11. Shall be solely responsible for the collection and disbursement of appointment orders.
  12. Shall be willing to stay after the working hours during some important projects.
  13. Shall coordinate the following 
  • Internship/in plant training
  •  guest lectures
  •  industrial visits
  • career guidance and training(Placement , higher studies, Entrepreneurship )
  • soft skill and technical skill training 
  • Community based project activities
  • Identification of the students from the government sectors
  • Government sector training to our students
  • Government job notification to alumni and identify alumni placed in government sector
  • Industry supported lab 
  • Advisory committee meeting
  • Organize training for employees from industries

 

    14. Shall monitor the joining status, get feedback from HR, and the students post joining 

    15.Shall look for placement opportunities from Alumni Associations.

    16.Shall maintain data for all the above activities and submit the same to the HOD for review periodically.
