Sankara Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Coimbatore Educational and Cultural Foundation Trust, founded by ‘Kalvi Chemmal’ Sri T.K. Pattabhiraman with the blessings of His Holiness Paramachariar. The foundation stone for  Sankara Polytechnic College was laid  by Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal of Sri Kanchi kamakoti Peetam in August, l982. It was inaugurated by honorable Minister of Education, Government of TamilNadu Thiru. C.Aranganayagam and Dr Raja Sir Muthiah Chettier Pro Chancellor, Annamalai University presided over the event in 1983.
